  • June 30th – Evaluations are Due to your district’s Superintendent. This is the end of the school year.
  • July 1st – Start of the New School Year.
  • August 1st – Notarized Affidavit and Objectives are due for returning homeschoolers to your district’s Superintendent (although many opt to hand this in earlier, people often will hand it in with their end-of-year evaluation.) All children in the same household can be on the same affidavit.
    • New Homeschoolers can file at any time, it is recommended that you not miss more than 3 days of school to avoid truancy issues.
    • If you are in need of an affidavit or objectives you can find ones for free here.
  • September 1st -Compulsory Age- any child that is 6 years of age on September 1st needs to have an affidavit filed (or be enrolled in a public, private, charter school or be under the supervision of a private tutor.) Any child that has not had their 6th birthday by September 1st does not need to file until the following school year. No proof of age is needed.

**Reminder to keep copies of all of your paperwork for your own records. Be sure to get a receipt for anything you hand in to the district. Send certified mail so that you receive a receipt or take a paper receipt to have signed by the recipient in the school.
