What Do Homeschooling Parents Typically Do With Their Children In The Early Ages?
Homeschooling under the compulsory age (which is six years as of 2021) should be all about exploring and enjoying discovering the world with your child. This is the time to enjoy learning through play, being outdoors, and reading lots of books out loud.
While there is no single formula, many parents use these early years to get to know their children. There is no need to purchase curriculum for little children. As your children grow and approach compulsory age, consider attending a CHAP convention for more instruction and an opportunity to look at some curriculum options. If you feel overwhelmed by all the options, remember to focus on the basics: reading, writing, and arithmetic. Some parents get a lot of mileage out of simply reading to their children for the first few years.
